NEWELL - Doris Aylene (Eckleberry) Abersold, 80, native of Newell, residing in Southern California, passed away on June 11, 2010, in Huntington Beach, Ca.

Doris was born on July 4, 1929, in Ohio, to the late Vera A. and Alvin W. Eckleberry of Newell, and sibling to the deceased Ronald E. Eckleberry and Wanda Colleen Addis.

She graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. Following her faith, Doris was actively involved with attending the Newell United Methodist Church and a number of churches in Southern California, where she led the children's choir and played the organ/piano for church services.

Doris is survived by her immediate family, oldest daughter, Pamela; younger daughter Debbie and son-in-law Rudy with their three children, Kristen, Sarah and Kari.

Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, 6th Street, Newell, W.Va.
