Barbara J. Alheit (nee Pasenow), 63, a lifelong Elyria resident, died Friday at EMH Reginal Medical Center after a short illness. She died on her 45th wedding anniversary. For 27 years she was a unit secretary at EMH. She also did volunteer work at the hospital at one time. Mrs. Alheit attended Avon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and crafts. Survivors include her husband, Eugene; daughters Linda Reaser of Elyria and Marsha Smith of Sot; sons, Gary of Wellington; Randy, Dale and Jeff all of Elyria. 12 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Beremand of Elyria and a brother Charles Pasenow of North Ridgeville. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dayle Jacquline Alheit, and her parents Harold and Emily Pasenow. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Bauer-Laubenthal-Wainwright Funeral Home on Chestnut Ridge Road in Elyria, where services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. John Butchko, pastor of the Avon United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
