Mrs. Adams was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria, the Elyria Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary #907 and she was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post #1079 in Elyria. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to casinos, playing cards and games and she was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns.
Mrs. Adams is survived by one daughter, Donna Wolf (Ted) of Elyria; three sons, Stephen Adams (Sally) of Channelview, Texas, Kenneth Adams of Elyria and Donald Adams (Brenda) of New London; four granddaughters, Wendy, Laura, Sarah and Jaimie; one great-grandson, Hunter; three brothers, Larry Lavelle of Westlake, Joseph Lavelle of Parma Heights and Robert Lavelle, C.S.C. of Gates Mills; two sisters, Sr. Mary Ann Lavelle, C.S.J. of Rocky River and Loretta Seidl of Fairview Park; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Adams in 1997; one son, James Michael Adams in 1958; her parents, Michael and Maud (nee Kilbane) Lavelle; by three brothers, Thomas, Bernard and Frank Lavelle; two sisters, Katherine Wyar and Theresa Gullion; and in infancy a brother, Michael; and a sister, Margaret.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 16, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 9:15 A.M. at the funeral home, followed by a 10 A.M. funeral Mass at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria. Rev. Frank Kosem, Pastor of St. Jude Catholic Church will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice, 5255 N. Abbe Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
