Levi D. Acheson, 74, of 112 Yale Avenue, died last night in Elyria Memorial Hospital after an illness of one week.
Born in Erie, Pa., Jan. 2, 1893, Mr. Acheson had lived in Elyria since 1943. He was a retired purchasing agent for the General industries Co. and was recently a salesman with the Strapping and Seals Co. of Cleveland.
He was a member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church, King Solomon Lodge 56 F and AM, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland. He was also affiliated with Bethel Shrine 24 Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem and the Al Koran Temple of Cleveland.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth R., to whom he was married 50 years, two sons, Robert W., Eyria, and John D., Rockey River; a daughter, Mrs. P. Ralph (Jean) Dowden, Erie, Pa., 11 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Monday, 3:30 p.m. in St. Andrew Episcopal Church. Dr. G. Russel Hargate, rector, will officiate and burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery.
Friends will be received in the Harold Dicken Funeral Home tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic services will be conducted there at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow.
The body will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. Monday.
