Robert Steven (Bob) Berryman, 56, of Cherokee, passed away Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway with 28 years of service.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Monday at Morrison Funeral Home, of Cherokee, with a graveside service to follow at 3:30 p.m. in Harris Chapel Cemetery, with Brother Dwayne Satterwhite officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W.L. Berryman Jr. and Ilene Berryman.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Berryman; sons, Steven Berryman and wife, Dana, and Seth Berryman; two grandsons; brother, Bill Berryman, of Florence; and sister, Melba Berryman Bailey, of Littleville.

Pallbearers will include Dale Woods, Jason Bailey, Willie Whitaker, Robin Ray, Tommy Grant and Gene Malone.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Cynthia Rollins with Hospice of the Shoals and Northwest Alabama Cancer Center.

Morrison Funeral Home, of Cherokee, is directing.
