Freeman Thomas Borden, 72, of Cherokee, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. Interment will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery. Dr. Frank Whitaker will officiate.
Mr. Borden was a native of Colbert County, Ala. He was a member of Operator Engineers Local No. 320 and the 883rd Quartermaster Unit of the Army Reserve, Sheffield. He was retired from TVA and a member of Barton First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Borden; his daughter, Melanie Borden; his stepsons, Randy Holmes, Keith Holmes and Roger Holmes; his brothers, Chester Borden and Jackie Borden; his sister, Diane Wallace; and his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Keith Borden, Jason Borden, Michael Paul Wallace, Eric Weaver, Anthony Holmes, Tyler Garner, Justin Garner and Kevin Thompson.
Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee, will be directing.
