BURIES LAST OF LARGE FAMILY IN SHORT SPACE OF TIME
a particularly pathetic figure in Colfax last week was Lawrence Alexander of Fort Bragg, who came here to bury his last child, Lester H. Alexander, who died Thursday at the Colfax Hospital. The funeral was held on Friday, Rev. Wilson conducting the services, and interment taking place in the Colfax cemetery. The deceased was 19 years of age.
Lawrence Alexander has been call to mourn the loss of a loved one six times all within a short period of time. First his wife passed the barrier into the unknown. Then followed his five children one quickly after the other. Father, mother and children all were born in California. The old man is bowed with sorrow and the lines of many griefs are written upon his face. He is now alone.
On Friday afternoon Mr. Alexander returned to his home in Fort Bragg.
