Juan was born in Cotulla, LaSalle County, Texas to Juan S. and Maria Pena Adame. His mother and father died shortly after he was born, leaving him an orphan at an early age. He attended public schools for a short while and then went to work at an early age. He learned the value and the importance of working in order to provide for his family. He moved to Bossier City, La., with the oil boom in the late 70's and then to Bryan with Hartsell Wireline Service in 1980. After a couple of years he retired from Hartsell Wireline Service and then went to work for the City of Bryan where he worked for the Parks and Recreation Division for 30 plus years before retiring.

He enjoyed dancing to and playing accordion music. He was skilled in wood working and found great joy in manicuring his yard. He truly loved having his family with him and cherished his grandchildren. He was sociable in nature and really liked sharing a beverage of choice with those he knew.
Preceding him in death are his parents Juan S. and Maria Adame; wife Juanita S.; daughter, Leticia Adame; son, Efrain Santos; and grandson, Joseph Anthony Santos.

His survivors include his daughter, Veronica "Betty" Adame of Bryan; daughter, Eva and husband, Larry Dula, of Guinitte, Ga.; son, Juan Carlos Adame of Orange County, Calif.; daughter, Melissa and husband, Julian Narro, of Bryan; daughter, Maria Galindo of Dilley, Texas; son, Juan Manuel Sr. and wife, Ofelia Chavana, of Pearsall, Texas; daughter-in-law, Modesta Santos of The Woodlands, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and close friends.
