OBITUARY:

Alvine "Beany" Akers, 59, died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday at the Union Hospital. He resided at 1020 7th Ave. He was employed by the Stark and Wetzel Co. He is survived by his wife, Lucille; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Church, Mrs. Bonnie Fagg, both of Terre Haute, and Mrs. Connie Hudson of Frankfort; two sons, Robert Earl of Sacramento, Calif., and Tommy J. of Terre Haute; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Joslin, Mrs. Fanny Dreher, and Mrs. Edith Mullikin, all of Terre Haute; three brothers, John of West Terre Haute, Fred of Terre Haute, and Paul of Rockville and 18 grandchildren. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday at the Bedino Chapel of the Valley where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. John E. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
