WINDSOR, VT Mary Aspesi, 92, a longtime resident of Windsor, passed away Tuesday morning, September 7 at the Hanover Terrace Nursing Home in Hanover, NH. She was born January 25, 1918 in Springfield, VT the daughter of Hippolyte and Ida (Kulbanowski) Tarajkowski. She received her schooling in Springfield and graduated from Springfield High School in 1935. She married Geno Aspesi in Bennington, VT on February 1, 1936. They moved to Windsor in 1937 where they resided for most of their married lives. She was employed at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Windsor and for many years was a familiar face selling tickets at the former Windsor movie theater. She also worked for Central Vermont Public Service in the Windsor office and later in the Claremont office until her retirement. Mrs. Aspesi was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a past member of the Windsor Emblem Club. She was known for having a green thumb with decorative flower gardens and her always successful vegetable gardens. Indoors, she cultivated exceptionally beautiful African Violets. She loved knitting, crocheting and doing jigsaw puzzles. She was also known as a good friend to her childrens friends during their teen years. She was predeceased by her husband of fifty two years in 1988, one granddaughter, Jennifer Perron, one sister, Evelyn Lynch, four brothers, Orton Tarajkowski, LaJunior Tarajkowski, Adam Tarajkowski and Peter Tarajkowski. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Day and Marianne A. Blake, both of Windsor, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Friends may call at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor of Friday evening, September 10 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 11 at 2:00 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor. The Rev. Rene Butler, M.S, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Windsor.
