Sharryn Ann Acampora, of Cheshire, CT, passed away suddenly. Sharryn was born in New Haven, CT, daughter of Maria Ruoppolo Acampora and the late Michael S. Acampora. She is survived by her husband, Edwin Vargas; brother, Michael M. Acampora and wife Julianne, East Haven, CT, and her five children: Edgar Simard and partner Dr. Emile Pinera, Montclair, NJ; Roseva Simard Cheshire, CT; Cameron Simard, wife Stephanie, and their son Ethan, Plainville, CT; Jared Simard and partner Jeremy Rafal, New York, NY; and Isabella Acampora-Vargas, Cheshire, CT. Sharryn was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1976 and in 2007 obtained her master's degree in occupational safety and health management from the University of New Haven. Sharryn devoted herself to worker safety and advocacy, served as the current President of the Connecticut Safety Society.
