Obituary
Margaret J. Huffman was born Nov. 29, 1828, at Troy, Ind. Died March 18, 1913 at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 19 days at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.C. Markley, at Belle Plaine, Kans., with whom she has made her home for about seventeen years. She joined the M.E. church at Troy, Ind., at the age of seventeen and has remained a member ever since.

She was married to P.H. Aldridge April 22, 1847 at Troy, Ind., where with the exception of one year spent in Illinois and one year spent in Kentucky, they lived until 1872 when they with their children came to Kansas and located on a claim five miles west and one mile north of Belle Plaine.

The husband and father died several years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. L.C. Markley, Belle Plaine, Kansas, Mrs. C.F. Henderson, Mrs. I.N. King, and Mrs. A.J. Turner of Wellington, Kans., Mrs. Wm. Chaney, of Eddy, Okla., and Wm. Aldridge of Manchester, Okla. A brother, Dr. M.V. Huffman of Belle Plaine and a sister Mrs. Mary Hudson of Louisville, Kentucky also survive her. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, March 19, at Council Hill conducted by Rev. P.C. Herbert.
