Luella Mae Adams, 80. A graveside service for Luella will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 North Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise.

Luella was born January 26, 1931 in Nampa, Idaho to Lawrence (Bud) and Francis Paulin. Growing up with her brother Don, her family traveled to many places where her Dad was a part of the many dams being built throughout the Northwest. One time the family even lived in a tent on a construction site.

She returned to Boise, attended the very first Franklin School and later graduated with the class of 1949 from Boise High School. In high school, Lue worked at the Vista Theater on Vista Avenue and with her wages she bought her first car, a Ford Coupe.

At the age of 21, she met the man of her dreams, Don Adams. They celebrated 56 years together before Dad's passing in May of 2008. To this union, Mike Adams, of the Salmon River country, and Kristine Lane, of Caldwell, were born.

Prior to becoming a full time stay-at-home mom, Lue worked for Joe Albertson in the office of the original store at 16th and State. Mom also worked for the State of Idaho in the Capital building microfilming documents.

After her kids started high school, Lue returned to work at Whittier School as a math tutor. She loved working with the kids and teaching them math could be fun. She often recalled how the kids would say, "You know, Mrs. Adams, you were right, math is fun." Lue enjoyed sharing her math "tricks" with each of her grandchildren.

Growing up, there was never a time Mom was not there to support us in all we did. The same applied to her four grandsons, who were equally spoiled and affectionately called her Grandma Lue. As a family, we had many great times at the cabin in Donnelly.

Following Mom and Dad's retirement, they spent their winters in Arizona on the golf course and enjoying time with friends. Lue enjoyed completing the crossword puzzle in the Statesman each day, watching golf on television, reading, discussing politics, playing solitaire and listening to talk radio each night as she went to sleep.

Mom passed peacefully on April 1, 2011, at Summer Wind Assisted Living in Boise, with her radio on.

Her son, Mike Adams; daughter, Kristine Lane; grandsons, Cody and Ben Adams, Boise; Nick Lane, Caldwell, and Colin Lane and his wife, Heather, of Hudson, NH; and special great-grandkids, Sheamus and Hailee Lane, of New Hampshire, survive mom.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Sheena, Amanda, Jessica, Marisa, DeAnn, Tommy, Debbie, Deborah, Trish and Ann, of Summer Wind. We are also grateful to Dalyn, Dorothy, Sheryl and Bruce with Legacy Hospice for their loving and tender care.

Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
