Roberta Irene Amstutz, 57, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at her Billings home surrounded by family and dear friends. Through a five-year struggle with ovarian cancer, she made the very best of life.

Robbie was born Feb. 3, 1956, to Mary Margaret and Edward William Seward in Cheyenne, Wyo., where her father was serving in the Air Force.

Her father died when Robbie was 12.

AF duty took the family also to Florida and Germany, leaving Robbie with a lasting appreciation of travel and the wonders of the larger world.

Robbie earned a BS in nursing with a specialty in psychiatry, from Troy State University and a Masters of Education from the University of Tulsa. She taught in elementary schools in Oklahoma and also worked at Shadow Mountain Residential and Children's Medical Center, Tulsa, Okla.

At CMC, she met Larry Amstutz, MD, a child and adolescent psychiatrist. Robbie and Larry married in 1984. They carried their love and care for children into their marriage adopting four children.

The family has resided in Billings since 1995.

Robbie was a committed member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and supported various community service organizations. She was an avid skier, a voracious reader, and a loving and tireless advocate and guide for her children.

She was preceded in death by both parents. Her mother, Margaret lived in the Amstutz home through her last years.

Robbie is survived by her husband, Larry Amstutz, and their four children, Kristen Margaret, Danielle Hannah, Mason William, Jessica Jae; sister Patricia Sears, Tulsa, Okla.; sister-and brother-in-law, Linda and Michael O'Keefe (Billings); nephews and nieces, Jonathan and Lisa and Daniel (Louisville, Ky.) and Joseph and Katie O'Keefe, Billings, Landy Sears (Chet), Billings.Memorials may be made to
