Merle A. Miller McCann Adams

Merle A. Adams, 95, Worland resident, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Merle was born on Jan. 14, 1913 to Jesse A. and Ethel May (McClain) Miller in Garnett, Kan.

The family moved to Terry, Mont. in 1915. Merle grew up in the Terry, Mont. area and also lived in Billings and Hysham, Mont. before moving to Worland in 1954. She took nurses training in Billings, where she met Lincoln A. McCann. They were married on Feb. 23, 1935 in Billings. To this union was born two children, Shirley and James. Lincoln passed away on May 7, 1979.

She later met Floyd A. Adams and they were married on Aug.14, 1981 in Billings.

Merle loved being a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and traveling. She was a Past Matron of the Eastern Star in Ten Sleep, a member of the Worland Garden Club and the Hospital Auxiliary. Merle was also a member of the Presbyterian Church in Worland. Merle loved spending time with her family and helping whenever she could with her grandchildren. She would often say, "Life is full of changes and you just have to learn to adjust!" This became her motto as she adjusted to the many changes that life handed her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lincoln, daughter-in –law, Connie; sisters, Dorothy Peters, Edith McCann, Jessie Brubaker and great-grandson, Daniel Salstrom.

She is survived by her husband Floyd of 26 years; children, Shirley (Marvin) Mead of Worland, James A. (Linda) McCann of Houston, Texas; step children, Robert C. Adams of Boise, Idaho, Faun (David) Polk of Helena, Mont.; sister, Jean Cleveland; grandchildren, Gary (Kathy) McCann, Cindy (Alan) Wade, Bret (Julie) McCann, Terri (Steve) Palmer, Ron (Colleen) Mead, Richard (Stephanie) Mead, Michael (Kristie) Mead, Marty Martinez, Rene Martinez, Sean Krei, Zac Krei, Eli Polk and Jed Polk; great-grandchildren, Steve, Kevin, Pat, Adam, MacKenzie, Matthew, Travis, Megan Ann, Kim, Levi, Reanna, Nichole, Spencer, Jessica, Eli and K.D.; great-great grandchildren, Jake and Hunter Martinez, Madison Miskulin, Aidynn Pollock, Madison and Kalon Mead.

Inurnment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Billings, Montana.
