Mary Lou Butts, 75, passed away Aug. 11, 2014, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Wood County, the daughter of the late John and Addie Spears Heater.

She had been employed by the U.S. Secret Service, the F.B.I., and had retired from the Bureau of Public Debt. She was very artistic and loved arts, crafts, painting, drawing, making get well cards, quilting and trips to Amish Country. She enjoyed gardening and working in flowers, she was tender hearted, was very giving and loved people and helping people however she could. She was a member of the Lynn Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, Lynda Kay Rohr of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Robert Alan Butts of Krum, Texas; three grandchildren, Elaina Butts, Madelyn Butts and Lydia Butts; one brother, John R. Heater of Akron, Ohio, and one sister, Ada Miller of Parkersburg.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with Evangelist Teddy Tackett officiating. Burial will be in the Walker Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
