He was born in Ajaria - Georgian Republic of Russia.

Polish Fighter Pilot serving with 303 Squadron during the Battle of Britain was shot down on the 11th September 1940. He did manage to bale out of his Hurricane I V6667 RF-K and was severely injured.

He did not die on the 11th September 1940 - he died at the hospital on the 19th September, due to serious injuries. His gravestone marker states September 11th, which is a mistake.
