Olivia was born on March 22, 1929, in Marksville, Louisiana, to Filmore and Lusina Lachney, and was raised in the former river bank community of Egg Bend. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
"Tiny" was a loving mother and homemaker. She was a remarkable cook, exceptional seamstress, business partner and entrepreneur. She had a broad imagination and a willingness to learn. She loved attending church services, creating unique crafts and gifts, and later found joy in painting. Olivia also loved to dance and was very good at it. Whether it was jitter bug, old French and Creole tunes, or any waltz which she always made look effortless, even with her dad. Olivia loved her family, friends, and community and never met a stranger. She will be dearly missed.
Olivia is survived by her daughters, Linda LeJeune of Batesville, AR., Trudy Dyson of Houma, LA., Sharon Vaughn of Mt. Home, AR., and her son Charles (Kristy) Leonard Jr. of Kingsport, TN.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years Charles "Red" F. Leonard Sr., her parents, Filmore and Lusina Lachney; her brother, Hilton "Mike" J. and sister-in-law, Florence Lachney; great-grand daughter Mia; and son-in-law Tommy Dyson.
Visitation will be held at Ibert's Mortuary, 1111 Lia St., Patterson, Louisiana, on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. Burial will follow the service at 4:00PM at Ibert's Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Marty Harden will officiate the service.
