Loyd O’Neil Guimbellot, 74, a native of Winnsboro , LA . and a resident of Patterson passed away, Friday, May 6, 2011 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston , TX . He was a retired business owner, served as a member of the St. Mary Parish Industrial Board, a past master of the Masonic Lodge Lafayette Lodge 87, an eight year veteran of the United States Army, and in his retirement he enjoyed raising sheep with his great grandchildren.
Loyd is survived by his wife Barbara Verrett Guimbellot of Patterson; his two sons, Lynn Guimbellot and his wife, Judy, of Patterson, and Don Guimbellot and his wife, Tony, of Morgan City; his two daughters, Kathleen Reynaud and her husband, Dale, of Marksville, and Dawn Guimbellot of Patterson; one brother, Bob Guimbellot of Houma; one sister, Thelma Pullin of Sulphur; seven grandchildren, Chad Taylor, Jennifer Lodrigue, Joshua Reynaud, Jessica Boutte, Megan Guimbellot, Ashleigh Guimbellot, and Kallie Dale Reynaud; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jordan and Emilee Brownell Guimbellot, and one brother, Kirby Guimbellot.
The family requests that visitation be observed Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 6pm to 9pm at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson. Visitation will resume Wednesday, May 11th at 9am until time of services.
Masonic Burial Services will be held for Loyd on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 10am at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson. A veteran honor service will follow in the Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery.
