**Principal Chief of the Lower Creek Nation (1828-1859)

Creek Chief Roderick "Roley" McIntosh was born in Coweta, GA, the son of William H. McIntosh Sr. and a Creek Woman of the Wind Clan; he had the following half-siblings: (mother: Senoia) Chief William H. McIntosh Jr. (1st husband of Susannah Rowe), and Matilda b. c1780 in Coweta, GA, who married George Stinson; and (mother: Barbara McIntosh, daughter of Wm. McIntosh and Jeanne MacKay) Lt. USN William R. who married Maria Hillary, John, and Jane who married Henry Gignillia.

He married about 1810 in GA (1) Muscogee d. c1829 after the removal to IT; they had the following children: Lizzie b. 1867 d. 18 Jul 1945, and an adopted son John MCintosh b. c 1924 d. 1899 in IT who married Susan Davis b. c1835 d. 1899 in IT.

He married about 1831 in IT (2) Susannah Rowe (widow of his half-brother Creek Chief William H. McIntosh Jr.); they had one child Vicey and adopted the 3 boys (Seleeta, Tadake, and Sapaja "Roley") of Artuami Cache (Sachpa) Armstrong McIntosh who was adopted by Chief Wm. H. McIntosh Jr. and Susannah Rowe.

Roley was named after his Grand Uncle, Capt. Roderick "Rody" McIntosh. His mother and 1st wife died soon after the Removal to IT. He was Capt. in the McIntosh Creek Regiment during the Seminole War of 1817-18, signed the Treaties of 1833, 1838, and 1845.

He died during the Civil War at the home of his niece, Deliah McIntosh (daughter of Chief Wm. McIntosh Jr. and Susanna Rowe who married William Drew), at Falonah Plantantion/Drew Plantation near Jefferson, Marion Co., TX.
