Gloria Evon Spikes, 79, of Marshall was born to Russell Light and Oma B. Allen Light on June 30, 1932 in Mooringsport, Louisiana. She attended Vivian schools in Vivian, Louisiana. She married Hershel Leland Spikes in Trees City, Louisiana. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, sewing and crafts. She was also a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Cypress Valley Bible Church in Marshall.
Gloria Evon Spikes went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2012 in Linden, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Hershel Leland Spikes, a son Hershel Lyn Spikes, two brothers and a sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son. Larry Wayne Spikes and wife Patricia of Marshall; sisters, Margarette Williams and husband Bob, and Eunice Wilson; grandsons, Adam Spikes and wife Amanda of Marshall, Hershel Lyn Spikes, II and wife Amy of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Robert Spikes and wife Kelli of Youngsville, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
