Georgia May Burdette, age 83, of White Sulphur Springs, died Monday, December 12, 2005, following an extended illness, at the home of her son, Paul Richard Burdette, in White Sulphur Springs.

Born at Mill Point on January 2, 1922, she was the daughter of William and Elsie May Huffman Jackson.

She was retired from Burdette's Radio/TV and Cable System, a family-owned business for many years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, White Sulphur Springs, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, in the Relief Society, and as a teacher/president of the Primary for 32 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wyatt Burdette, on March 3, 1998; her brothers, William Alexander and Withrow Jackson Huffman; a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Huffman Bowes; a half-sister, Flora Alberta Sevy Simmons; a half-brother, Clarence E. Sevy; two grandchildren, Paula Mae Burdette and Travis Ray Burdette, and a great-grandson, Jerell Delbert Burdette.

Surviving her are three sons, Paul Richard Burdette, of White Sulphur Springs, Jerell Wyatt Burdette, of Hemet, California, and James Adrian Burdette, of Lenoir, North Carolina; a daughter, Brenda Kay Ettelson, of Roanoke, Virginia, one sister, Francis Merl Huffman Fraley, of White Sulphur Springs; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 17, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, White Sulphur Springs, with Curtis A. Webb officiating.

Interment followed in Ruckman Cemetery at Mill Point.
