Predeceased by husband Howard In 1987, siblings Marcel Pirart & Raymonde Bogyo, brothers-in-law John Zacharias, Jim Bogyo, Bill Argyle and sister-in-law Helen Argyle. Alice is survived by her loving family - daughter Joan (Bruce) Erickson, sons Gary Argyle, and Rob (Donna) Argyle; grandchildren Sharon Erickson, Mike (Angela) Erickson, Nicole Argyle (fiance Tony) and Angela Argyle. Alice recently became a great grandmother to Penelope Erickson. Also survived by sister Jeanne Zacharias, sister-in-law Lillian Pirart and many nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada, Switzerland and Belgium. Alice is also survived by her dear friend of over 70 years, Alma McDougall, of Vancouver.Alice taught school in Saskatchewan and at St. Ann's Convent in Nanaimo before teaching french at Woodlands Junior High School for over 20 years. She is still fondly remembered by many of her former students. Alice loved to travel and took many trips to Europe, Japan, China etc., sometimes accompanied by student groups on spring break which left her with wonderful memories.She was a long time member of St. Peters Catholic Church and the Catholic Woman's League.A special thank you to Dr. Baird and the staff at Malaspina Gardens for their excellent care and attention to Alice.Funeral mass to be held at St. Peters Catholic Church, 301 Machleary St., Nanaimo, BC on Wed, Aug 24th at 11:30 am. Reception to follow in church hall followed by interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Nanaimo SPCA or charity of choice in Alice's memory.
