Melvin C. Corby, 82, of Wayne Township died Saturday at ManorCare, Pottsville.
Born Columbia, Feb. 26, 1928, he was a son of the late George and Gertrude Auchenbach Corby.
He was a member of Bethesda Reedsville Evangelical Church, Schuylkill Haven.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He retired in 1994 after 23 years as tractor trailer driver for Lehigh Valley Dairy, Schuylkill Haven.
Melvin was a member of Teamsters Local 429 and enjoyed camping.
Melvin was preceded in death by a sister, Melba.
He was the husband of Alice Berger Corby, to whom he was married 60 years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Corrine, wife of Greg Krick, Blandon.
Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Reedsville Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Mark Brooks and the Rev. Jeff Byerly officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Interment will be in Reedsville Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. Family would prefer rememberances in the form of contributions to Bethesda EC Church Memorial Fund, 155 Reedsville Road, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972 or Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, is in charge of arrangements. Condolences for the family can be sent to www.gsesfuneralhomes.com.
