L C Hughes of Kennett Square
L C Hughes, 70, of Kennett Square, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Chester County Hospital.
Born in Mitchell County, N.C., he was the son of the late Garfa and Sena Barnett Hughes.
A mushroom worker for more than 50 years, he was employed by Mushroom Conveyors Inc. in Avondale.
An expert carpenter and handyman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being with his dog, Ahny.
Survivors include one son, Michael McMahan of Cochranville; one brother, Lee Hughes of West Grove; two sisters, Elene Bryant of Green Mountain, N.C., and Olene Hutchings of Lenoir, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Loy Hughes and Lonnie Hughes.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 26, at Cleveland & Grieco Funeral Home, 221-223 Pennsylvania Ave., Avondale.
His funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.
Interment will be in Byrd Cemetery in Green Mountain, N.C.
