He was a local Preacher and held services throughout the Deep Creek and Mahantongo Valley. He was instrumental in the founding of the Barry Immanuel Evangelical Church, and donated the land for the Church and Cemetery.
Michael died near Lavelle, Barry Twp., Schuylkill Co., PA and was initially buried in Reed Cemetery.
NOTE: Michael's body was later moved to his final resting place at the Barry Immanuel Evangelical Congregational Church Cemetery south of Lavelle, Schuylkill Co., PA.
