"[Charles'] grandfather, John Fisher was a native of Long Swamp township, Berks county, Pennsylvania, born about the year 1780, and removed to Orwigsburg, Schuylkill county, shortly after his marriage. He was married to Rebecca Greissinger, who was born January 16, 1767, and died at the age of over eighty- eight years. He was a farm laborer, and died near Orwigsburg. Through this marriage five children were born, — one son and four daughters. "
