Don Cesare Bisognin was an Italian presbyter who was ordained at the early age of 19, shortly before his demise.

Undergoing studies in law at the Scuola Magisteriale obtaining a diploma, while studying theology he began suffering from an unknown illness in his left knee which later developed in an advanced bone cancer.

Due to his vocation he wrote personally to Pope Paul VI, asking for a dispensation to be ordained priest. Confined to bed in a hospital in Turin, he was granted the required dispensation by the Pope and was ordained on Sunday, April 4, 1976 by Cardinal Michele Pellegrino, Archbishop of the Metropolitan See of Turin. An interview with the young priest, aired on Good Friday, April 9, on Stasera G7, was followed by millions of Italians, receiving in the days that followed, thousands of letters.
