Mr. Roland "Bill" Dean
(May 25, 1924 - January 10, 2010)
Funeral services for Roland "Bill" Hartful Dean, Chief Master Sergeant Retired, age 85 of Jefferson, TX., will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Haggard Funeral Home Chapel with High Priest Ellis Lewis officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at Dean Cemetery in Marion County, TX., under the direction of Haggard Funeral Home of Jefferson. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Dean was born May 25, 1924 in Broken Bow, OK., the son of George Robert Dean & Lillie Mae Jones Dean. He passed away January 10, 2010 in Shreveport, LA..
Mr. Dean was a Rancher, and Air Force Veteran serving in WWII, Korea & Vietnam receiving 19 medals & commendations. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints "Community of Christ", member of the Priesthood, the Jefferson V.F.W., American Legion, the D.A.V. & A.F.S.A. Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, son, George Forrest Dean, granddaughter, Laura Michelle Dean, three brothers & six sisters.
Survivors include: His wife; Betty Dean of Jefferson, TX., three children; Donald Gary Dean & wife Tina of Central Point, OR., Betty Jean Dean Patterson & husband Jimmy of Greenwood, LA., Barbara Ann Dean Bellar & husband David of Shreveport, LA., two sisters; Joyce Fitts of Texarkana, AR., Doda Rye of Killeen, TX., & eight grandchildren; Jason Patterson, Roland Keith Patterson, Mark Patterson, Jennifer Ferguson, Lindsey Ferguson, Travis Dean, Ryan Dean & Bradley Dean.
Pallbearers: Jason Patterson, Keith Patterson, Mark Patterson, Travis Dean, Ryan Dean & Bryan Dykes.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wilkinson Cemetery Association or the West Bowie Cemetery Association.
