Born in Mahanoy Township, March 4, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Viola Hilton Beckett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Kufrovich, in 1981.
She was employed in the garment industry in several of the local factories prior to retirement.
Gert was a life member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Mahanoy City, where she served on the church's Music and Worship committee, senior Choir and the Lamplighters committee. She was also a member of Mahanoy City Elks 695, where she served as the lodge chaplain and was also past president of the ladies auxiliary.
Gert was the last member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Gertrude Troup, in 2010; a granddaughter, Annalisa Polusky.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine Bradley, Easton; two sons, Gerard Kufrovich and Gregory Kufrovich, both of Mahanoy City; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Bowers, Susan Bradley and Christopher Bradley; three great-grandchildren, Chase Bowers, Edward Polusky and James Polusky; a great-great-grandchild, Bryson; nieces and nephews; and four- legged child, her dog "Crickett".
A funeral service was held at St. Paul's United Church of Church, Mahanoy City, with the Rev. Dr. John H. Reid officiating.Interment took place at Assumption BVM Cemetery, Mahanoy Township. The Mahanoy City Elks will conduct their Lodge of Sorrow service. Jane Clifford Ritz Funeral Home, Mahanoy City, Franklin R. Fetter, funeral director, had charge of the arrangements.
