JANE ETHEL SPIVEY, age 96, of Beattyville, KY, widow of Troy Spivey, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her residence in Beattyville, KY.
She was born in the Willaby Community of Lee County, KY on March 11, 1917, a daughter of the late John Frank and Julie Ann (Barker) Creech. She worked as an assembler for Excello Defense System. She enjoyed cooking, working with flowers, gardening and was a member of the New Springs United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Calvin (Sandy) Spivey and Jimmie (Linda) Creech all of Beattyville, KY; ten grandchildren, William Jones, NeKea Rose, Troy Jason Rose, Tracy Lynn Spivey, Kenny Morris, Carla Scott, Dawn Flinchum, Delisa Creech, Jimmy Creech, Jr, and Tony Creech; thirty great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-five years, two daughters, June Gail Jones and Linda Jean Rose, six brothers, Tom, Jim, Ben,Tunis, Junis, and Willie Glen Creech, five sisters, Roxio Creech, Nellie Stevens, Inez Hollon, Ollie McDonald and Pearl Creech.
Funeral services were held in the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013 with Reverand Jack Short and Chaplain Paul Dyer officiating. Burial was in the Buck Creech Cemetery located in the Glen Eden Community in Lee County, Kentucky.
