Raymond Brown, Sr., (Tojoe), 72, of Galax, died June 21, 2001, in Twin County Regional Hospital.
He is survived by daughters, Lena Sawyers and Verna Lee Tucker both of Galax; sons, Elder Raymond Brown, Jr. of Galax, Rev. Douglas Gwyn of Mt. Airy, NC; brother, Hasten Brown of Galax; foster sister, Ola Goins of Galax; foster brother, Preston Coletrain of Galax; 32 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral was June 24 at 2 p.m. in Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Reeves, the Rev. Jerry Bryson, the Rev. Douglas Gwyn and the Rev. Theodore Brandan officiating. Burial was in Oldtown Cemetery.
