Obituary
"Funeral services for Mrs. Janie Banks, of Jefferson, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Cedar Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Lewis-Walker Funeral home.
Mrs. Banks died Tuesday in Douglas Memorial Hospital, in Jefferson, after a lengthy illness. A native of Marion County, Texas, she was the daughter of Caroline Richardson Hughes and Bob Richardson. She was a retired housewife and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Jefferson.
Survivors include one son, Herman Epperson, of Jefferson; one daughter, Hattie Wheatley, of Jefferson; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren."
