He was born in Warren on Sept. 14, 1924, the son of William C. and Alice Atkins Abplanalp.
Bill managed Abplanalp Dairy Farm from 1943 to 1962. In 1962, with his brother Jack, they started Abplanalp's Dairy Bar, and in 1964 he became a machinist at Sylvania, where he worked for 20 years, retiring in 1984. He was also a school bus driver for 50 years. He was a member of the Stillwater Lodge #0547 where he was a 32nd degree mason. He was also a social member of the Youngsville American Legion and belonged to several golfing and bowling leagues, and was a former member of the Youngsville Kiwanis.
Bill enjoyed his cat and dog and going to hunting camp with his friends, and was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Eastman Abplanalp, whom he married on April 9, 1952, in the Irvine Presbyterian Church; a son, Terry (Marilyn) Abplanalp, Collierville, TN; a daughter, Wendy Diane (Mark) Alfreno, Grove City; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Alex) Boggan, Memphis, TN, Jennifer Abplanalp, Collierville, TN, Garrett Abplanalp, Collierville, TN, and Jesse Alfreno, State College; a brother, Jack (Florence) Abplanalp, Youngsville; and two sisters, Marjorie Hendrickson, Youngsville, and Zelam (Bud) McAllister, Telford, PA.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Chrispell and Mary Lawson.
