Othalia Eugenia "Jean" Drummond Alexander, age 82, of Mableton passed away in the early morning of Monday, March 23, 2015 at Wellstar Community Hospice/Tranquility in Austell, Georgia.
Jean was born to James Benjamin Drummond and Katie Morris Drummond on September 3, 1932 in Thomaston, Georgia. After high school, Jean married Robert Oscar Alexander. The couple had two daughters, Gieret and Cindy. Their family later grew to include three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Mableton resident since 1954, Jean raised her family in the area and attended church locally. She was a long time member of St. Luke Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Jean is preceded in death in 1995 by her husband Robert Oscar Alexander, and parents Ben and Katie Drummond .
She is survived by her daughters Gieret Alexander of Mableton, Georgia, and Cindy Ewaskiew and her husband Stephen of Austell, Georgia; brothers: Randall Drummond and his wife Margie of Marietta, Georgia, Thomas Drummond and his wife Connie of Tennessee, Rev. Clarence Drummond and his wife Faye of Cumming, Georgia, Don Drummond and his wife Jeanie of Thomaston,Georgia, and Phil Drummond and his wife Linda of Warm Springs, Georgia; sister-in-law Kay Drummond of Macon, Georgia; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends 11:00 AM until service time Thursday, March 26, 2015 at White Columns Chapel in Mableton. Graveside Services were held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton, Georgia with Rev. Fleming Thompson officiating.
