MCDONALD - Everett Lee Barker, 82, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 6:10 pm Briarfield at the Ridge following an extended illness.
He was born in Century, West Virginia on March 26, 1929 the son of Roy and Sarah (Robinson) Barker. He was known by his family and friends as "Pee Wee".
Everett retired in 1987 after working 20 years as a rubber liner at Lordstown Rubber Company. He faithfully and honorably served in the United States Navy for 20 years. He loved animals and anything outdoors. An avid gardner, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife Lula Mae (Brown) Barker whom he married on July 8, 1972; seven children, Jackie (Kim) Barker of Albright, WV, John (Carol) Holbrook of Newton Falls, Karen (John) Wilhelm of Kingwood, WV, Freda (Dave) Phillips of Warren, Judy (Mike Vadas) Frantz of McDonald, Everett (Kitty) Barker Jr. of Kingwood, WV, Ron (Cara Borkes) Barker of Columbus; eight grandchildren, Jason Wilhelm, Mary Beth (Brent) Rhodes, Adam Holbrook, Ian Frantz, Chelsea, Barker, Aaron Frantz, Nikki Barker, Brett Barker; two great granddaughters, Maleah and Rylan Rhodes.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Browning) Barker who died in 1971; son Timothy Holbrook; grandson, Jack "Pete" Barker; four brothers, Floyd, Boyd, Harry, Clifford and two sisters, Sally and Betty.
Calling Hours will be Friday, April 15, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home. The Funeral will be Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10 am at the funeral home. Rev. Starkey Gilliam officiating. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery with military honors provided by the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
