MCDONALD – Richard G. Bartel, 64, died Monday, May 16, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
He was born May 19, 1946, in Salem, the son of Earl W. and Dorothy M. Wood Bartel.
Richard worked for Penske Motor Freight for 31 years as a car hauler, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in McDonald were he was a Choir Director for 30 years and also a Deacon, and graduated from Cedarville College with a Bachelor Degree in 1970.
Besides his father of Austintown, he is survived by his wife, the former Carla A. Wester whom he married March 15, 1969; daughter, Veronica Carkido of Girard; sons, Jeremy Bartel of Wittibreut Germany and Joshua (Shawna) Bartel of Leawood, Kan.; brother, William Bartel of Austintown; two grandchildren, Alana and Taylor Carkido.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, were family will receive relatives and friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
Interment will be held at Kerr Cemetery.
