Anne Rogers Balon, 86, of Edison, died Monday, May 4, 2009, at Mary Anne Hale Pavilion Haven Hospice, Edison. Born in Dunellen, she resided in Metuchen and Marlboro before moving to Edison. She worked as a seamstress for United Garment Workers of America. She was a member of Metuchen Elks Lodge and past president of the Metuchen Little League Ladies Auxiliary.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1978. Surviving are her son, Dr. Francis "Bob" Balon of Morganville; a brother, Louis Alparone of Monticello, Ga.; two sisters, Theresa Rudisi of Summit, and Dorothy LaRaque of Colonia; three grandchildren, Kristin Vanicek, and Kevin and Justin; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Butch, and Daisey. Funeral services will take place at 9:45 a.m. Thursday, May 7 at the funeral home, followed by a 10:15 a.m. funeral mass at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Entombment is at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge.
