Longtime Bulls Head resident Nora Abagnalo, 85, of Plainfield, New Jersey, the loving matriarch of three generations, died Thursday at the Woodlands Nursing Home in Plainfield.

Born and raised Nora Nelson in Brooklyn, she graduated from Prospect Heights High School. She moved to Bulls Head in 1975, and lived there until entering the nursing home in March.

Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Abagnalo also worked for twenty years in sales at the Kmart in New Springville. She retired in the 1980s.

She enjoyed cooking for her family, and liked to play bingo and cards.

"She was the most loving and caring person I've ever known," said her son, Michael.

Mrs. Abagnalo attended St. Roch's R.C. Church, Port Richmond.

Along with her son, Michael, surviving are her husband of sixty-two years, Michael; her daughter, Amelia Galanti; two brothers, Jack and James Nelson; a sister, Maryellen Condon; her step-mother Catherine Nelson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Monday from the Matthew Funeral Home, Willowbrook, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Roch's Church.
Burial will follow in Woodbridge (New Jersey) Memorial Gardens.
