Funeral services for Artis Johnson, 58, of Jefferson, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Logan Chapel United Methodist Church with Dr. Winston McCowan officiating. Burial will be in the Judea Cemetery in Smithland under the direction of Hayward-Stanmore Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson died Monday, May 7, 2007, at Linden Health Care. He was born Oct. 16, 1949, in Jefferson to Revis Johnson Sr. and Ever Crenshaw Johnson. Mr. Johnson worked at Mauldin & Mauldin Lumber Company for over 20 years. Survivors include his brothers, Revis Johnson Jr., Johnny Johnson of Hastings, Neb., and Calvin Johnson of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, L.V. Florence of Fishers, Ind., and Lee Helen Stephens of Sulphur Springs; and host of other relatives. Hayward-Stanmore Funeral Home
