Services for Joyice Mae Alexander, 84, of Jefferson, will be at noon Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Jefferson Middle School, with the Rev. John W. Givens and the Rev. Lloyd Faster officiating. Burial will be in Judea Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hayward-Stanmore Funeral Home of Marshall. Mrs. Alexander died September 28, 2008, at her residence.

Born May 1, 1942, in Jefferson, she was a longtime Jefferson ISD employee and faithful member of Belview Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Leon Alexander, Hezzie Alexander and Kenneth Alexander; daughters, Mary Alexander Jones and Mildred Alexander; sisters, Charlesetta Williams, Mildred Fisher, Helen Gregory and Gloria Robinson; and brothers, Joe Jones and Maurice Jones. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
