Mrs. Maude Alice Creed Adams, age 85, of Mount Airy, died Thursday, February 8, 2007, at Surry Community Nursing Center. She was born June 28, 1921 in Surry County to the late Jesse William McKinley Creed and Rena Elizabeth Sawyers Creed. Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors: husband Roland Grady Adams of the home; sons Jerry Adams, Mount Airy, and Michael William Adams, Mount Airy; granddaughter, Lornie Nicole Adams; sister and brother-in-law, Beatrice C. Gwyn and husband Ralph, Pilot Mountain; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carlie and Pauline Creed, Ararat, NC, J.E. and Bonnie Creed, Ararat, NC, and Sanford and Margaret Creed, Ararat, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Etta Creed and two brothers, Hassel Creed and Leonard Ray Creed. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at Howell Funeral Chapel of Mount Airy, conducted by Rev. Don Fellows and Rev. Ted Turman, with interment to follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday night, February 9, from 7 to 9 P.M. at Howell Funeral Home of Mount Airy.
