She was a graduate of Tate High School in Pensacola, FL, and also a 1954 graduate of the North Carolina Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. Sara was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Adams practiced nursing over the years until having to leave her job at Central Continuing Care to take care of her husband. Mrs. Adams was very much loved by her family and friends, never met a stranger, and always was there to lend a hand or a kind word of support.
Surviving are her husband, William "Bill" Adams, Sr.; two daughters, Sherrie Burgess of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Barbara Adams of Winston-Salem; a special family friend, Krystal Bryant of Winston-Salem; a son and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" Adams, Jr. and Kay of Jacksonville, AL; four grandchildren, Sara Adams and Taylor Adams, both of Jacksonville, AL, and Lauren Pearcey and Erin Burgess, both of Gulf Breeze, FL; a sister, Joan Andrews of Jay, FL; and a special dog, "Goober".
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December, 28, 2008, at Skyline Memory Gardens, with Krystal Bryant officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
