Final rites for Miss Leta Mae Lupo, who died at her residence in Oakview Apartments after a long illness, were held from the First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. The Rev. Hawkins officiated at the services. Burial was in Tabernacle Cemetery. She was born in Lincoln County in 1883.
The daughter of the late Tim Lupo and Elizabeth Newman Lupo, Miss Lupo is survived by a brother, Lonnie of Brookhaven; four sisters, Mrs. Eula Callender, Miss Ola H. Lupo, and Mrs. Lutie Smith, all of Brookhaven and Mrs. Bobbie Beasley of Hazlehurst. The deceased was a member of the Baptist church.
Pallbearers were nephews and great-nephews of Miss Lupo including C. E. Callender, Darrell Callender, Jesse Callender, George Friend, Rufus Callender and Sherwin Callender.
