Albert Ancker -- Born in Germany, Dec. 28, 1860. Married Bertha Marx, Jan. 18, 1888. Children: Vivian, Henrietta, Julian (deceased.). Educated in the schools of San Bernardino, Calif. Occupation: Banker President, Bank of Tehachapi, Tehachapi, Calif. Member: West Gate Lodge No. 33 l, F. & A. M. Los Angeles; California Bankers Association. Came to California in l 87 l and to Kern County in 1892 in which year he established the Bank of Tehachapi in association with L. Harris, H. A. Blodget, H. Herschfield and l. Asher and who formed the first Board of Directors. The Bank of Tehachapi has been in continuous operation since that time. Phil Marx was cashier of the Bank 190 -1921 and President 1921-1933. Albert Ancker was the bank's first cashier, serving from 1892 to l 895 and as president from l895 to 1921 and became president again in 1933 and has been continuously active in the operation of the bank since its founding, forty-eight years ago. He has been a member of the Board of Directors and President of the Yellow Aster Milling and Mining Co., Randsburg, Calif., since 1917. This mine was found by Singleton, Berchum and Moore in 1895. He was in the mercantile business in San Bernardino, Whitehouse Department Store, until l 892. Recreation: travel. Address: Bank of Tehachapi, Tehachapi, Calif.
