Francis E. "Frank" Bloschock, 81, of Ellengowen Road, Maple Hill, Shenandoah, passed away Sunday morning at his residence.
Born in Shenandoah, July 22, 1930, he was a son of the late John and Catherine Hyland Bloschock.
He was a 1948 graduate of the former Mahanoy Township High School.
Frank was a decorated Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. His decorations and citations include the Korean Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He was the former co-owner of Capitol Food Market, Shenandoah.
Frank was a member of Annunciation BVM Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were three brothers, Leo, John and Joseph Bloschock; two sisters, Helen Brown and Catherine Gasewicz.
Surviving are his niece and caregiver, Catherine M. Gasewicz, Maple Hill; a sister-in-law, Claire Bloschock, Eddystone; additional nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Annunciation BVM Ceme tery, Shenandoah Heights. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.
