The Troy Times, Troy NY, 12/23/1918, Page 03: "Death of Veteran. Courtland Adams, aged eighty-three years, a resident of Cohoes, died yesterday at his home, 124 Central Avenue. Mr. Adams was born at East Line, Saratoga County, and came to this section when a young man. For many years he conducted a pin factory on Short Remsen Street, after which he went to Winsted, Conn., where he conducted a similar business for a few years. He returned to this section about twenty years ago, embarking in the feed business on Nineteenth Street, Watervliet. He sold that business nine years ago to I. C. Dater and retired from active work. Mr. Adams was twice a veteran of the Civil War. He first enlisted in 1860 and served an enlistment as a member of Company A, Twenty-second Regiment, New York Volunteers. He was honorably discharged from the service on June 19, 1863, at the end of his enlistment. He re-enlisted as a member of Company M, Twelfth Regiment, New York Cavalry, and was honorably discharged at Trabore, N. C., on June 28, 1866: Mr. Adams was a member of the First Methodist Church for many years and until his retirement was active in church affairs. He is survived by his wife and two sons, William Adams of Whitehall and Arthur Adams of Bolton Landing."
