Leo was born on June 25, 1935, to the late Roy E. and Margaret (Campbell) Alexander in Vassar. He graduated from Midland High School in 1955, after which he married his sweetheart Beverly Mae Harger on Sept. 30, 1960.
Leo worked for The Dow Chemical Co. for 40 years, starting out in the old 47 building moving then to the space center for Dow for five years and then to Coba Dow until he retired in 1995. He attended the Sunrise Baptist Church in Midland.
Leo is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Eugene,Steven,Brian; grandchildren, Katherine, Tyler, Sarah, and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Haylei, Remington and Meah, and Riley; mother-in-law, Dora Munger; brother, Ray (Kathy) Alexander; sisters, Louise, Calif., Ruth, and Nancy; and sister-in-law, Jean. He was preceded in death by his son, Allen Alexander; brothers, Donald and Wesley; sister, Elaine LaLone; and nephew, Brent Alexander.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at the Sunrise Baptist Church, 2138 N. Jefferson, at 11 a.m. with the Pastor Mark Weick officiating.
Leo's family will be present to receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers you may wish to consider giving to MidMichigan Home Care Green Team, the Sunrise Baptist Church or to the Hope Fire Department. Smith-Miner Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time.
