Roger Wilson Altman MARION - Mr. Roger W. Altman, 68, died Monday, June
28, 2010, at McLeod Hospice House following an extended illness. Funeral
Services will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Marion Baptist
Church directed by Richardson Funeral Home. The family will receive
friends in the Fellowship Hall from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Born in Hemingway, Mr. Altman
was the son of the late Willie Jack Altman and Lucy Lee Altman Edge-worth.
Until his health declined, he was an active member of Marion Baptist
Church where he was a member of Oak Tree Sunday School Class, and he also
was a member of Men's Prayer Breakfast. He was past President of Marion
Civitans, past President of Marion County Heart Association, and past
President of the Swamp Fox Square Dancers. Mr. Altman was a member of
Clinton Lodge #60, and was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery where he was a
Department Manager. Survivors are his wife, Becky Curry Altman, of the
home; a son, Roger W. "Will" Altman, Jr., (Betty H.) of Dillon; daughters,
Amy Elizabeth Altman (Greg) Shaw and Holly Altman (Andy) Flynn both of
Florence; sisters, Jackie Altman Haselden (Bill) of Hemingway, Lucy Dean
Altman Reeves of Sum-merville, and Linda Altman Ellis of Emerald Isle, NC;
and four grandchildren.
