MARION - Harold Monroe Altman died Sunday in a local hospital.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. from Marion Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Smith Brothers Funeral Home.
He was born in Marion County on July 13, 1911, a son of the late Walter Monroe and Ora Edwards Altman. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Uncle Charlie's Hut Class and the Rotary Club. He was a Mason and a member of Wahee Rod and Gun Club.
Surviving are his widow, the former Bannie Tindall; one daughter, Mrs. Robbie Ellis of Elon, N.C.; one son, Roger Altman of Marion; four sisters, Mrs. Paul J. Altman of Marion, Mrs. Lonnie W. Baxley of Fayetteville, N.C., Mrs. Woodrow Drew of Florence, and Mrs. Tom Edwards of Gresham; and two brothers, Paul F. Altman of Marion and Walter F. Altman of Mullins.
